On patience
Spent three nights waiting for the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction to clear from haze. Finally managed a decent view around 2am on the third night. Nothing photographable, but sometimes just seeing is enough.

Currently using an 8-inch Dobsonian. Not the fanciest, but it shows the Pleiades beautifully on cold nights. Thinking about a tracking mount eventually, but for now the manual sweep is part of the meditation.
Mostly for myself — a way to track what I've seen and when. Occasionally a friend asks for advice on starting out, and I send them a link. That's about it.
